Job Summary

This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 25/26/27). The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process, as they meet the criteria defined below.
The successful candidate will assist in developing and proposing initiatives and programs for the Utility of the Future (UoF) group. This position requires close interaction with several groups, including Asset Management, Renewable Energy Solutions, Legal, etc. This position requires supporting and coordinating UoF initiatives with the 10-year capital budget. Work function includes extensive national and international research, out-of-the-box thinking, engaging national and international utilities, supporting the BPU’s Energy Master Plan, focusing on the Integrated Distribution Plan, Microgrid towncenter programs, and other BPU initiatives, supporting the Governor’s energy goals, focusing on the 100% clean energy goal by 2050, RES’s clean energy future filing, supporting the climate change and sustainability report, intelligent substation program and the future of the natural gas system, i.e. RNG, hydrogen, etc.. The job function would include engineering analysis, data analysis, reliability and resiliency analysis and supporting the 69 kV program and other internal initiatives and coordination with system operation and the control centers. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG business controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal controls.

Job Specific Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience conducting research and analysis
• Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office applications
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus
• Demonstrated effective problem-solving, creativity in research and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and results-oriented.
• Developed written and verbal communications skills
• Must be willing to work storm duty and support operations as needed
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license and maintain safe driving record.

Desired:
  • Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) grid impact and interconnection requirements.
  • Electric vehicle, non-wire solutions, energy storage, microgrid knowledge.
  • Knowledge of electric transmission and distribution operations, familiarity with inside/outside plant assets and operations experience.
  • Working knowledge of power flow, electric rates, SCADA, load forecast and load relief.
