Our Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) organization in Alameda, CA currently has an opportunity for a Project Manager, Integrated Business Planning.

This role s erves as the liaison between project owners, project teams and management to guarantee an open and accurate communication of project and program achievements and issues to be escalated for resolution. It is accountable for identifying areas for process improvements, and defines and implements solutions, serving as the key contact to disseminate the new process requirements to the organization. The process is intended to ensure the senior management has the appropriate data and synthesis thereof for optimal decision-making in support of the Product Portfolio and Division strategy.

This incumbent may also serve as Project Owner for one or more projects in the Product Portfolio, executing the project in accordance with the above process expectations. Projects under the direction and/or purview of the incumbent will often have material business impact, often exceeding $1MM in annual margin impact.

Accountable for driving scope, budget, and quality, not only for a given project, but across projects in conjunction with other stakeholders to optimize portfolio value creation

Main Responsibilities
  • Implement, monitor and improve business processes in support of Project Management, Int egrated Business Planning (IBP) and sub-processes thereof
  • Demonstrate stewardship and provide project leadership to meet Division strategy and business objectives
  • Manage activities associated with product-related projects by coordinating the activities from key functional areas such as R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Quality and Commercial
  • Projects being managed may include market and line extensions, reformulations, new products, new manufacturing process and new packages
  • Act as a point of contact for IBP process reporting and updates
  • Facilitate project managers through the project management and IBP process; ensure cross-functional team is working within process definition for reporting to Sr. Management. Resolve project team conflicts and project data integrity (30%)
  • Implement process improvements solutions to support the division to achieve its long-term goals. (20%)
  • Provide business updates as needed regarding project status, resource needs, risks and decisions to be escalate to Sr. Management in a timely manner (20%)
  • Document project management process and use of project management tools and reports (20%)
  • Create a work environment that supports cross-functional team effectiveness (10%)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Technical discipline, or equivalent combination of Education and Work Experience
  • Requires at least 3 to 5 years of years of relevant experience, such as in product development, product management, project management and/or business process implementation, preferably in the fields of medical devices and/or pharmaceuticals

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates strong technical experience in portfolio management, cross-functional project management, program management and team leadership
  • Additional cross-functional experience in the areas of R&D, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Supply/Demand planning and/or Manufacturing, are desirable
  • Ability to collect information from multiple sources, synthesize, integrate, and resolve conflicting requirements and cross-functional issues
  • Demonstrates process-oriented thinking, focused on continuous improvement and lessons learned; have demonstrated the ability to define and implement complex and interdependent business processes
