Senior Scientist - Cardiovascular in Vivo Models

We are seekingahighly motivated Senior Scientistto join our Research & Development Division Discovery Biology group.The candidate will be responsible for hands-on in vivo work developing new therapeutic targets for cardiovascular diseases. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate technical proficiency, scientific rigor, independent thought, and a team-oriented mentality.  This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented and self-motivated person to contribute to bringing new therapies to patients while gaining valuable career experience in drug discovery and cardiovascular disease.

Education Requirement:
  • A Ph. D.with +2 years of experience in Physiology, Pharmacology, Biology, Biochemistry, or MSc. +5 years, or similar degree. Candidates with experience in industry settings are encouraged to apply

Required Experience & Skills:
  • Understanding of cardiovascular physiology and cardiovascular techniques
  • Hands-on experience in multiple models across diverse therapeutic areas including I/R, MI, TAC, HF
  • Experience in performing rodent echocardiography and understanding of echocardiographic parameters
  • Experience in performing invasive hemodynamics assessment (i.e. PV-loop) is preferred
  • Animal manipulation, sample collection, as well as processing and analysis of blood and tissue samples using a variety of techniques, including, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, ELISA, and other molecular and cell biology techniques
  • Assurance compliance with protocols interacts with the IACUC for protocols, amendments
  • Analyzing, reviewing, and presenting data within-group and across-functionally at department meetings
  • Comply with standard laboratory practices and company policies, including notebook documents and biosafety policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems by undertaking innovative approaches and applying state-of-the-art technologies exemplified by publication in high-quality scientific journals is required
