Academic Personnel Specialist

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Academic
Personnel Service Center, and general direction of the Sr. Academic Administrative
Analyst and Administrative Analyst, you will provide academic administrative
support in the AP Service Center for the Departments of Anesthesiology and
Family Medicine. Major duties include but are not limited to: administrative activities related to
academic review process to include assisting with dossier preparation for
appointments; merit increases and fourth-year, five-year and eight-year appraisals
and promotions advancement for Regular Rank, In-Residence, Health Sciences
Clinical and Clinical X faculty for both Clinical and Basic Science areas.
Qualifications

Required:

Ability to establish and maintain checks and balances to control projects and activities to meet established deadlines.

Analytical skills to evaluate personnel information to define problems, identify relevant concerns or factors, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and recognize alternative methods and their implications.

Skill in interpreting, explaining, and applying complex policies such as the Academic Personnel Manual, and the CALL.

Ability to proofread written material, correct and suggest appropriate wording for correspondence.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional and courteous working relationships with all departmental personnel, University representatives and supervisor/department management.

Ability to work as part of an administrative team; collaborating with colleagues to meet deadlines.

Demonstrated skill in setting priorities of assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, deadlines and competing requirements.

Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel, personal and patient information and discuss personnel/payroll matters of sensitive nature.
