A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
  • Performs rough construction carpentry, painting, cementing and similar and related work to maintain, repair and construct structures, waterways, fences, and similar projects.
  • Erects and builds scaffolding, staging, and wooden forms for concrete.
  • Mixes, pours, and finishes concrete.
  • Repairs roofs, doors, and windows.
  • Uses hand and portable power tools. Installs and maintains plumbing.


Knowledge of: General practices, methods and materials used in rough, heavy carpentry. Safety rules and regulations and first aid procedures.

Ability to: Use tools and equipment for rough painting, repair and construction work. Read and follow construction sketches. Work safely on elevated structures and near energized equipment. Perform heavy manual labor as required. Obtain and maintain a valid vehicle operator's permit.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required are of a level comparable with those normally acquired through courses taken in obtaining a high school or trade school education and considerable experience in general structural maintenance.

Candidates must have a valid California motor vehicle operator's license or be able to obtain one.

  • This position requires travel up to 25% throughout SCE's Western Operations area as needed.
  • Testing Information: This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Please access our Information Guides to reference test(s): Edison Individual Contributor Workstyles (Test 8203) and Rough Carpenter Test (2422). Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
  • Candidates must be available to test in Rosemead, CA.
