Become a Senior Advisor, Supplier Diversity Program at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be in the Edison Material Supply company, a subsidiary of SCE. More than $1 million dollars is invested annually with initiatives focused on developing supplier's capabilities and capacity. You will be responsible for managing various supplier diversity and sourcing activities to facilitate SCE's compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and public laws related to small and diverse business enterprise procurement. You will manage the supplier development initiative to include oversight of program strategy, framework, curriculum, and resources. In addition, you will build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders necessary to help achieve SCE's business and community objectives.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
  • Develop and maintain supplier diversity business case and program strategy in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead key supplier diversity initiatives or projects with high business impact, including but not limited to budget, spend, relationships, etc.
  • Lead initiatives focused on supplier outreach, relationship management and utilization strategies.
  • Support key procurement functions such as sourcing, proposal scoring, bidder conferences, supplier certification/qualification processes.
  • Monitor, analyze, interpret, and report program results; as well as make recommendations that maximize business and community impact.
  • Build relationships with key local, regional, and national advocacy organizations; negotiate productive partnership agreements with mutual benefits.
  • Act as a liaison and serve on advisory boards and councils of local, regional, and national advocacy organizations.
  • Manage company engagement with key supplier diversity outreach events and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The essentials
  • Ten years of experience with inclusive procurement, supplier diversity and/or development, and/or supply chain operations.

The preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or an equivalent combination.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Ariba.
  • Experience working in the utility industry and regulatory environments.
  • Strong understanding of category management and/or strategic sourcing.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, negotiation, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong experience effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously and leading cross-functional teams.
