Are you a professional software engineer with an interest in working on complex systems using cutting edge technologies? If so, Parsons has an exciting opportunity for you! Parsons' Software Engineers analyze, design, and develop computer software required to support hardware or technical service products. Review system architecture, and select and implement appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance. Test and debug related software

  • Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs
  • Testing and evaluating new programs
  • Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications
  • Writing and implementing efficient code
  • Determining operational practicality
  • Developing quality assurance procedures
  • Deploying software tools, processes, and metrics
  • Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
  • Working closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts
  • Testing, selection and implementation of technologies, tools and working methods;
  • Automation of security controls;
  • The maintenance of the system and of the external and internal computer networks
  • At the technical level, the DevSecOps engineers must be able to work in a specific environment: Jenkins, Docker, Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, Scripting YAML, SAST (Static Application Security Testing), DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing)

  • A current, active Secret security clearance is required (TS/SCI preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer sciences, math, or physical sciences from an accredited institution
  • Advanced degree supporting software system subject matter expertise a plus
  • Candidate will be experienced in C++, Java, and Python
  • SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite)
  • Experience with the design and development of software applications or algorithms for data management, processing, analysis and/or visualization
  • Unix scripting (bash, tcsh, ksh)
  • pub/sub messaging concepts
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the full software development cycle
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Orchestration, provisioning, and container familiarization
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps
  • Willingness and ability to learn new languages as necessary
  • Experience in developing applications and services
  • Holds or ability to obtain Security+ certification
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, machine learning and multi-threaded applications is a plus.
  • Experience using software engineering tools, such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • 8+ years of experience delivering software development solutions for aerospace or space systems, which could include the following:
  • Hands on design, build, test, and/or fault analysis experience with complex software architectures required
  • Knowledge of DoD space mission integration processes (space vehicle to ground control system, space vehicle to launch vehicle systems, space vehicle to range systems) and experience with risk identification and risk management
  • Ability to effectively engage industry stakeholders, government staff, and technical panels to perform monitoring and assessment responsibilities in support of mission critical preflight risk assessments
  • Ability to engage on multiple concurrent efforts that will each be a different stage of the assessment and evaluation cycle
  • Ability to participate in cross functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system engineering and integration activities
The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $130,000.00.Benefits for this position include: medical, dental, vision, paid time off and 401K.Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
