Summary:

In this role, you will be paired with a Vizient executive as mentor for the duration of this Fellowship program. You will have responsibilities for data science and medical informatics projects, across the healthcare domains of clinical & operations, supply chain, pharmacy, and healthcare strategy. You will work with their executive mentor to find projects matched to their interests and goals. Projects in data science will include data projects to improve operations, enhance products, or generate new insights. Informatics projects will focus on technical topics to advance Vizient offerings in areas of health care data standards, interoperability, and data infrastructure. The Fellowship is a full-time opportunity with a duration of one year, beginning in the summer of 2022.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal data science, product, and informatics teams on assigned projects.
  • Conduct self-directed research into healthcare data topics.
  • Develop data science approaches, such as machine learning models, to improve understanding or predict health care outcomes. Conduct data management or other tasks, as assigned.
  • Contribute to informatics solutions that solve problems of data modeling, interoperability, data infrastructure, or business use of data.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings and ‘voice-of-customer' work to gain understanding of Vizient business needs. Conduct competitive intelligence research.
  • Collaborate with internal Vizient staff/leaders and external stakeholders including Vizient clients, vendors who provide services to Vizient, and other third parties.


Qualifications:

  • MHA or equivalent, MPH, or master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous internship in a medical setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and technical skills, including proficiency with coding languages such as SQL, python, R, or equivalent.
  • Ability to make appropriate recommendations, conclusions, and translations from analysis into reports suitable for presentation.
  • Experience with health care data, health care data standards, interoperability, or other informatics skills desirable.
  • Strong academic records, written and verbal skills and project management capabilities.


Estimated Hiring Range:
$43,800.00 - $63,500.00
