Primary Responsibilities:
  • Evangelize best practices for building and operating highly reliable systems
  • Design and build infrastructure & systems that provide high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance, while balancing security, maintainability, and operational excellence
  • Serve as subject matter expert in observability and monitoring
  • Work with a creative engineering team to continuously implement and improve reliable and speedy build environments for DEV & QA
  • Automate infrastructure and configuration management
  • Seek out potential threats to security and reliability and advocate solutions
  • Build logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to identify bottlenecks and assist with debugging, analysis, and optimization in a cloud-agnostic environment

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of IT experience in Java space
  • Passion for reliable, scalable, observable software with a solid sense of ownership
  • Experience developing and monitoring mission-critical systems
  • Substantial experience with Java, Full Stack, Cloud(Azure, AWS, open shift) and Database technologies
  • Knowledge of the ELK stack
  • Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka
  • Experience with managing and tuning datastore clusters
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, Travis, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • System Observability experience
  • SRE Exposure

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
