Job Description

As a Senior Associate on our team, you will contribute to planning and implementing all aspects of marketing policies, objectives, and initiatives.

This individual will have a knack for helping Fannie Mae's people, products, and values shine; Takes initiative to consistently improve processes and works collaboratively to make the team more efficient; Delivers quantifiable results, and supports our partners in meeting their business objectives and goals through best-in-class communications strategies; Collaborates across teams and functions. Work may be done independently or under limited supervision.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

This role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic communications support for our ESG and Mission strategy.
  • Collaborate, advise/consult, and support business partners by leading their strategic communications, executive visibility, and employee engagement planning.
  • Educate employees about our business and mission through storytelling and data-driven communications channels and tactics.
  • Take ownership of work end to end, receiving direction and guidance when necessary, and coordinating the work of others.
  • Support authoring, reviewing, or contributing to internal campaigns and editorial calendars (blogs, creative briefs, articles, story mining, awards) that may have an external reach.
  • Create, implement, and oversee communications deliverables - delegating and reviewing the team's work as appropriate.


Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent. Area(s) of study: communications or public affairs preferred.
  • Minimum experience 2 years


Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
  • Able to work respectfully and cooperatively with people from different areas of expertise to achieve a common goal.
  • Skilled in influencing, including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
  • Seeks to understand division and company's goals and priorities and how individual work contributes to its success. Must be a non-siloed thinker.
  • Accountable for self and demonstrates independent thinking and solid decision-making skills.
  • Can manage details small and large - from initial brainstorms to promotion and execution.
  • Passion for growing skills, learning the business, building relationships, and understanding different areas of expertise on a high-performing, diverse communications team.
  • Able to demonstrate results - quantitatively and qualitatively - and pivot based on changing priorities and lessons learned.
  • Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions.
  • Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change, meet strategic objectives, and address employee sentiment and feedback.
  • Experience defining and managing changes to documents, websites, and other files to enable collaboration and ensure teams are working from the latest version.
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.
  • General understanding of ESG.

  • Skilled in using a CMS to manage the creation and modification of digital content
  • Skilled in SharePoint
  • Skilled in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams and OneNote
  • Experience using Workfront
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat including Adobe Pro, Acrobat Reader, Acrobat, and Acrobat.com
