Department Overview

The vision of the Chief Data Office (CDO) is to operate, organize, govern, and monetize TD Securities strategic data-assets. Access to high quality data is critical to helping inform business decisions quickly and accurately, allowing the CDO to deliver value to its clients.

The priorities for the Reference Data Team in the CDO include the continuation of roll outs of Data Masters in Authoritative Data Sources and integration with dealer platforms (using reference data service RDaaS APIs) creating a common and consistent representation of data for clients, securities, agreements, etc. As part of this priority, TD Securities recently licensed Bloomberg's OneData product which provides full access to Bloomberg's data offering, including pricing, reference data,regulatory data, alternative data, event and news data, and liquidity analytics.

Job Description

Are you a big picture thinker? Fantastic! This is exactly the kind of thinking TD Securities needs when it comes to our CDO. In this role, we need you to take a holistic, high level approach to collection and distribution of data for major projects and initiatives across TD Securities.

The reference data team within the CDO is currently seeking an experienced strategic leader for the Security Master domain. The candidate will work closely with the Security Master technology and operations partners and across key stakeholders to create and deliver the appropriate business prioritized strategic solutions. These future state solutions will improve the sourcing, mastering, distribution and consumption of data for securities and related data for issuers of those securities, including fundamental data, news, and other data sets.

The ideal candidate must be a strong collaborator who has demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders to consider innovative solutions and leading analysis to support the decision making process. The candidate must be results-oriented and able to clearly articulate any issues/dependencies impeding progress along with proposed resolutions and recommendations. Team leadership, data analysis, requirements gathering, and operating model development skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have proven partnership experience across line of business, technology, operations and change teams, and across global locations.

Job Requirements

As a Security Master Data Strategist you will...

Develop Strategies
• Define the strategic vision that will add business value and increase efficiencies for operations in the Security Master domain
• Lead the development of the strategy/roadmap ensuring integration with the organization's business plans
• Identify and articulate innovation opportunities

Provide Thought Leadership
• Design, structure, and own quantitative and qualitative analyses
• Identify major issues and actionable opportunities, design solutions, and quantify potential bottom-line financial impact across business lines
• Monitor industry trends/vendors/fintech/regulatory changes and share insightful reports and analysis with broader team and with senior executives
• Synthesize impactful findings, develop written recommendations, and present those recommendations to senior management

Manage Strategy Delivery
• Facilitate workshops, brain-storming sessions, and decision-making forums
• Maintain overall accountability for implementing the roadmap of initiatives
• Provide oversight and input into enterprise initiatives that impact customer experience
• Lead strategic review of solution development
• Lead or participate in project post-mortems; capture key learnings and develop case studies as appropriate

Coordinate with Stakeholders
• Develop strong trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders
• Identify stakeholder requirements and advise and influence stakeholders on key business decisions and change efforts
• Deliver senior management presentations, with ability to recognize and address stakeholder motivations and concerns

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and significant experience (15+ years) in data management, delivering technical and operational change
• Solid understanding of Security and Issuer Reference data, including Fixed Income, Equity, Exchange Traded Derivatives, OTC Derivatives, FX, and Financing transactions as well as related issuer information
• Comfort with Front-Office Data and Technology. Prior experience functioning in roles and functions that are highly data-driven and that required understanding of data models and flows, and technology architecture as related to business requirements
• Experience analyzing and integrating complicated financial data feeds
• Strong operating model and change management capabilities with experience in both tactical and strategic programs
• Innovative, forward thinker with a decent grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, marketplace, and regulatory environment
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present fact-based recommendations in a clear, logical, and concise way: \\"tell a story\\" with data
• Excellent relationship management, team leadership, influencing skills
• Strong presentation skills and ease of effective communication at senior levels of management and with partners from a variety of business functions, including the ability to quickly adjust messages based on different audiences and agendas
• An outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written) and work well in cross-functional teams
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with changing and multiple priorities
• Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and manage an entire work-stream
• A proven ability to drive large-scale and complex initiatives and build partnerships
• Excellent and efficient skills using Office productivity tools
• Experience in Agile based programs
