Required Education, Experience, & Skills

BAE Systems is in search of a Security Engineer to support one of our mission-critical government client in downtown DC. Requirements include:
  • 10 years of experience in software engineering, program design and implementation, configuration management, maintenance, integration testing, or information system engineering
  • 5 years of experience in system security analysis and implementation; secure system engineering or design; and work in protocol and/or interface standards
  • Ability to create security guides (i.e. educational materials)
  • Experience with security monitoring and evaluation, including audits, assessment, and risk management (Splunk, Kibana/ElasticSearch)
  • Security awareness, training, incident response and management (i.e. POA&Ms)
  • Active collaboration with technical leads, developers and the client to ensure system is within FISMA compliance
  • Experience with MS Office products (Excel a must)
  • Understand cloud systems (AWS/Azure)
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Experience with Linux (RHEL7/8) and Windows Operating System
  • Working in an Agile environment (Sprints/Jira/Kanban Boards)
  • Use and understanding of enterprise security scanning tools (Tenable, Burp Suite)
