Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced MILCON Project Manager with a background in construction monitoring, navy explosive safety and associated documentation requirements related to ongoing facility design and construction for the Navy's Strategic Systems Program.

For over 60 years, BAE Systems has served as the sole-source Facilities Acquisition and Engineering Agent for the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Program (SSP) office. As a prime contracting partner, BAE Systems provides results that ensure SSP Facilities meet all requirements from concept through completion. The selected individual will work closely with SSP Government program office. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Application of Navy Explosive Safety requirements including interface with Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA).
  • MILCON applying processes and procedures to documentation requirements such as; DD Form 1391, Basic Facility Requirements, construction cost estimation and master planning.
  • Construction Project Management.
  • Interpretation of aerial photography.
  • Attending customer staff meetings and frequent meetings with customer leads.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum education and years of related/relevant experience required: Bachelor of Science and 8 years applicable Military Construction experience.

Additional skills/experience required:
Experience with MILCON & Facilities Acquisition Program(s) including monitoring execution of construction projects.
Experience with MILCON processes, procedures and documentation including DD Form 1391 and Basic Facility Requirements definition.
Experience with Navy Explosive Safety (NOSSA) Program/Requirements.

Security clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Highly desired, but not required:
Active Secret security clearance
Experience in Construction cost estimation and Master Planning
Familiarity with SSP MILCON & Facilities Acquisition Program
Work in interpretation of aerial photography
Background in Architecture
