Director, Marketing Electrophysiology, Global

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Abbott is seeking a passionate, experienced, and strategic medical device leader to join our Global Electrophysiology Marketing Management team, leading continuation marketing and market intelligence efforts. The right leader in this role will have a successful track record of preparation and delivery of marketing campaigns, tracking and measuring campaign success, understanding of competitive landscape, demonstrated communication excellence to address both internal and external market needs and long-range planning coordination. This role will work closely with Abbott EP field staff, global and regional marketing as well as global and regional education teams. This role will directly supervise the global market intelligence team that is charged with maintaining market models, competitive updates, and up to a 10-year outlook of product sales at the product family level including units, ASP and revenues. This role will also lead a team of marketing managers and associates whose tasks include launching and executing global, regional and local continuation marketing campaigns, driving capital programs, pricing, contracting and marketing promotions, and messaging and positioning of the existing EP portfolio related to the campaigns.

  • Achieve revenue, profit, margins for EP franchise around the world.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and spearhead cross functional collaboration across the EP business, as indicated by key talent retention, on time commercial deliverables and event preparedness and cross functional business alignment to EP objectives.
  • Create campaigns, with key messaging, customer targeting, pricing, and promotions, in conjunction with the global marketing and education teams along with reporting on execution deliverables and analytics for measurements of success or failure.
  • Key finance liaison with focus on sales forecasts, plan, earnings and forecast numbers as well as quantity purchase program strategy and execution.
  • Work closely with the global brand and channel team on the creation and dissemination of communications of global messaging for any existing product based on business needs, priorities and clinical relevance.
  • Pricing and promotions for US geo; sales engagements including evaluation protocols; quarterly sales promotions and roll outs; and quarterly plans of action to help blunt competition.
  • Engage with key customers and top customer accounts to drive preference toward Abbott EP products.
  • Managing operating expenses for the team in line with budgets and global marketing partners.
  • Maintains problem solving / collaborative relationship with Marketing and Sales leadership measured by 360 feedback and observation from Divisional Vice President of Marketing.
  • Partner with 3rd parties to align with business needs and elevate EP offerings and position Abbott EP as primary solution for EP needs
  • Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback.
  • Maintains a safe and professional work environment.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent.
  • 12+ years of progressively more responsible business experience in a class III medical device company or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of demonstrated experience at a managerial level, including prior Director-level leadership experience at a medical technology company.
  • Extensive experience with strategic marketing, including launch, of US and global medical devices.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to effectively prioritize projects that align with corporate priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to effectively align at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.


Preferred
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
