Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a CRM Education Program Specialist. We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Customer Education Program Specialist to support, and track customer facing training events and programs as part of the customer education team. Strategically plan and execute external meetings and training events for the Abbott Cardiac Arrhythmia and Heart Failure (CAHF ) Management Professional Education department. To report directly into the Customer Education Visit (CEV) Program Manager. To collaborate with Education & Training and other key stakeholders to ensure business objectives and priorities are met. Lead effort in venue sourcing to place the meeting or event with the appropriate meeting space and other specifications to support each program. Work closely with stakeholders and vendors to plan and execute on logistics, design or create event elements to support strategic objectives and program deliverables. Develop communications to the field sales force and attendees to ensure appropriate awareness of the event. Manage the planning and supervision of all internal resources and external vendors that may include transportation, food & beverage, meeting space specifications, registration site build, group housing list, badges, coordination of onsite event services, offsite dinners and other related activities. Process a series of post event tasks that include timely payment of invoices, internal chargebacks, HCP (Healthcare Professionals) reporting, financial summary and attendee evaluations.

  • Coordination and management ofhealth care professional customer education events and peer to peer programs.
  • Communicate directly with host and visiting physicians as well as field for peer to peer site visits.
  • Arrange necessary logistics (travel, hotel, etc) for customer attendees through utilization of internal meeting management tool.
  • Manage agenda development and maintenance for customer education programs.
  • Coordinates all reporting metrics to provide compliance appropriate reports.
  • Maintains calendar of approved national peer to peer programs. Manage registration process and education event communications, program logistics and post-program close-out for assigned events.
  • Partners with the customer education team to provide operational support necessary for program development and improvement.
  • Accomplishes all expense management associated with expenses incurred through customer education programs. Tracks budget associated with programs.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are included in the pre-event planning and maintains control over the event timeline and project deadlines.
  • Sources and recommends education event venue sites and other meeting spaces to support overall program.
  • Lead core team planning meetings and ensures all action items and deadlines are completed on time.
  • Coordinate all logistics in association with education event including housing block, food & beverage, audiovisual equipment coordination, staff scheduling, Cvent registration and attendee badging, meeting space specifications, offsite events and preparation of pre-event communications.
  • Work closely with all external vendors and manage their work flow and event deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with official corporate travel resources and partnerships in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Maintain complete fluency and understanding of Abbott travel and spend policies and external regulatory guidelines like the Sunshine Act.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for major meetings and education events. Monitor expense and managed event costs at or under budget.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years' experience with customer coordination/logistics and meeting planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Exceptionalorganizational and prioritization skills with strong attention to details.
  • Proactive problem solving.
  • Able to work independently, make accurate decisions and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Modest travel required (~10%)

  • Experience in medical device, healthcare or pharmaceuticals preferred.
  • Experience with event management tools (CVENT, Lanyon, etc) preferred.
