Children's Behavioral Health Initiative Program Manager (CBHI) will have oversight over the CBHI program within Optum and in collaboration with other Managed Care Entities (MCEs) in the state of Massachusetts. The CBHI Program Manager will support established CBHI providers in providing services according to program specifications, ensuring appropriate training and supervision, and improving access to services. This position will be the primary CBHI liaison with state agencies, as well serve as a subject matter expert, and will require both remote and in-person presence. Employees in this function must have a valid clinical license (i.e., LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) and typically have a Masters' Degree in counseling, psychology or social work or are registered nurses (RN) with psychology specialty.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supports clinical team in solving problems and provides guidance to internal clinical operations
  • Supports the adaptation of departmental plans to address business and operational challenge
  • Serves as subject matter expert and consultant in the resolution of member issues and concerns
  • Serves as subject matter expert and consultant in the resolution of CBHI provider issues and concerns
  • Ensure that CBHI providers participate in State required meetings, trainings, coaching, supervision, quality improvement, and other related activities
  • Participates in CBHI meetings required by the state and in accordance with all MCE collaboration. Co-facilitates CBHI meetings, as needed
  • Participates in local Systems of Care (SOC) meetings in collaboration with MCEs and attends monthly *SOC meetings in the northeast region
  • Network management of assigned CBHI providers in collaboration with MCE partners to ensure active and ongoing program development plans and corrective action plans, as appropriate
  • Ensures that CBHI providers participate in state required meetings, trainings, coaching, supervision, quality improvement, and other related activities
  • Conducts record reviews using CBHI chart audit tool and generates annual CBHI report
  • Helps support the roll out and implementation of Behavioral Health

Required Qualifications:
  • Registered psychiatric nurse; licensed masters' level mental health professional OR licensed Ph.D. with an unrestricted license in Massachusetts
  • Solid knowledge of CBHI program, services, and processes in the state of Massachusetts
  • Ability to travel up to 10-25%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of post-licensure diversified clinical experience in a direct service setting
  • 2+ years of successful clinical and administrative management in a managed care environment
  • Acute psychiatric, chemical dependency or outpatient therapy experience, with an emphasis in differential diagnosis
  • Demonstrated leadership in the clinical and operational areas, (preferably Care Coordination and wraparound principles)
  • Solid leadership and analytic skills
  • Secure ability to work independently, as well as with a team
  • High ethical standards
