Co-op: Device Design and Packaging

Job Description

This position is a 6-month Co-op from January – June 2022

The Device and Packaging Development teamsare part ofBiogen’s Product and Technology Development (PTD) organization engaged in laboratory activities supporting the development and characterization of therapeutic products, manufacturing processes or new technologies. 


We are seeking self-motivated scientists and engineers interested in supporting our mission in drug delivery, packaging and device development.

In this role you will gainexperience in device and packaging engineering,have access tostate of the artlab equipment, andwork oncontinuous improvement projects using Design for Six Sigma techniques. You will also have opportunities to be exposed to other line functions such as shipping qualifications and working with outside vendors.

Day to day responsibilities include
  • Lab duties, device and packaging engineering research and development.
  • Data recording,interpretationand presentation for ongoing work in weekly meetings is expected.
  • Packaging engineering and lab improvement techniques.
  • By the end of theCo-op,youwill have hands-on experience in device and packaging lab testing technologies and contribute to positive environmental-impacting packaging engineering projects.


To participate in the BiogenInternshipProgram, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university


Students majoring in Mechanical or Packaging Engineering, or related field.
