Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for an Environmental Health, Safety & Security Manager . This site is Abbott's oldest nutrition manufacturing plant in the world. Working here, you'll feel part of a family - a family of 400 that works together to help nourish the world.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Ensure that EHS activities are integrated to overall Logistics Strategy, Vision and Goals
  • Maintain current knowledge and ensure compliance on all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Standards, including local and state Regulatory requirements
  • Leads and manages all Abbott technical standards and management standards
  • Develops, conducts, and supports EHS&S Training by collaborating with training team
  • Conduct on-site gap analysis proposing corrective actions plans
  • Maintain sites' environmental permitting and reporting
  • Manage FM Global audits, recommendations, and site compliance
  • Manage Dangerous Goods Program
  • Manage the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standard (CFATS) and ensure compliance
  • Maintain strong partnerships with the manufacturing locations to assure Security, Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health needs are met
  • Build/integrate leading indicator performance management into logistics MOS process (Safety Committee)
  • Engage and hold the team accountable to implement actions on agreed time
  • Elevate critical pending items to NAM Logistics Director
  • Collaborate with manufacturing sites to oversee Security team and food defense security
  • Provide all levels of leadership guidance on changes to all EHS&S changes or requirements
  • Analyze a variety of EHS&S information including: Environmental Metrics, EHS&S inspection findings, and site injury/illness statistics to delineate problem areas
  • Identify positive/negative trends, determine appropriate responses, and make recommendations for solutions
  • Integrate responses into the organization's EHS&S Strategic plan and associated management systems
  • Supports site leadership team with incident investigations with immediate on-site presence and supporting RCA conclusion in 48 hours
  • Conduct/lead/train on risk assessments: General task, IH Monitoring, Machine Guarding, Fall Protection, PPE, Ergonomics, etc.
  • EHS&S supports for Engineering projects
  • Collaborates with Project Managers to support the execution of RCE checklist
  • Interface with internal and external regulatory agencies community organizations, Division and corporate that relate to EHS&S
  • Collaborate with site leadership in developing site procedures, practices, and rules
  • This individual must possess sound judgment and problem-solving skill, strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and consulting skills, good organizational and computer skills, consistent customer orientation and a multi-disciplinary function

  • Engage senior leadership to cultivate the right EHS culture from Top Down
  • Engage site leadership and making site accountable for EHS performance leveraging on-site presence and pursuing deep understanding of day-by-day DC activities
  • Demonstrate sense of urgency in critical EHS situations, defining clear mitigation action plan holding site leadership accountable for seamless execution
  • Engage division EHS liaisons and stakeholders. Work closely, understand challenges, and provide guidance to build trust and cooperation
  • Build a competent EHS liaison team within each site. Lead by example, demonstrate leadership and support EHS liaisons.


Travel:
  • Yes, 20% of the time, Domestic & International, occasionally with short notice


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required:
  • 5 or more years of experience in environmental, health and safety
  • 2 years or more of supervisory experience is recommended
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Science, Technical, related discipline, or equivalent experience

Preferred:
  • CSP or similar certification is a plus
  • 2 or more years of experience within a Logistics environment
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite
