As a CNC Manual Machinist, you will:
  • Setup and operate a wide range of machine tools to include, but not limited to; Planer Mill, Radial Drill, Engine Lathe, VTL, HBM, Jig Bore, Vertical and Horizontal Hone, ID Grinder, OD Grinder, Surface Grinder, Centerless Grinder, conventional Mill/Lathe, and CNC/NC Mill/Lathe.
  • Make complex setups and precise alignment of work pieces in the machine and manufacture to extremely close tolerances as required in the manufacture of a large variety of precision parts made from various materials and configurations; bar stock, weldment, forging, and casting.
  • Perform work in state of the art facility, where safety is a priority
  • Work with minimal supervision, while still having access to a supportive team lead
Physical Requirements in this role:
  • Stand for long periods, stoop, bend, reach, and climb
  • Frequently handles objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Have the physical strength and ability to sufficiently perform routine or heavy manual tasks
  • Use of cranes, hand trucks, and other lifting and moving equipment for heavier loads

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of machining experience and/or vocational education
  • Experience in Union Shop environments with seniority based systems
  • Working knowledge and skill set to read and use precision layout measuring instruments
  • Understanding and application of algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric functions to blueprint dimensions in the machining of complex parts
  • Ability to read and interpret multi-paged complex machining blueprints
  • Ability, confidence, and self-motivation to apply talents independently and with good judgment
