BMS is seeking to recruit a permanent Procurement Manager, Indirect Services/ Materials & Compliance, located at the Manati Manufacturing facility based in USA. Reporting to the Associate Director, Site Procurement Leader. Manager, Indirect Services/Materials and Compliance will lead the local sourcing efforts for all relevant Services and Indirect products, and support to Capital/Engineering related activities as needed.

This position will maintain strong alignment to the manufacturing network strategy and initiatives, including the Compliance Program, support the business with close partnership with the site management team, and engage closely with any appropriate sister sites within the GPS network to ensure best value for individual site and network.

The Manager, Indirect Services/ Materials & Compliance must display excellent communication skills to all internal stakeholders, management and suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Maintain continuity of current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) for Services and Indirect materials for manufacturing operations at the Manati facility by managing suppliers and engaging directly with site stakeholders as well as global teams.
  • The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) Manager for Indirect Services/Materials & Complianceat Manati, will manage procure to pay transactions, enforce policies and internal controls, and provide support for end-users in addition to managing vendor relationships and interactions.
  • Pro active - Audit Readiness mind set, with skills to execute E2E, investigations and CCactivities, as required.
  • Will work closely with internal stakeholders within the Business Units, not limited to Laboratories, Facilities, Maintenance and Engineering departments along with other Finance/Admin functions to ensure a seamless customer service.
  • Support the BMS local Sites standardization of Services and Indirect materials/ consumables and drive delivery of cost savings including alternate/secondary sourcing of indirect materials for cost savings/avoidance for all categories.
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain Planning stakeholders to understand and analyse consumption of materials, monitor deliveries with suppliers for deliveries arriving close to need by dates and expedite as required.
  • Negotiate deliveries/terms with suppliers and escalate as needed through Corporate Procurement when deliveries are not aligned to support production needs.
  • E2E Investigates records and resolves problems such as invoice discrepancies, damages and quality issue investigations.
  • Ensures pricing, quantity and compliance information related to preferred supplier/vendor, and communicates with suppliers and site personnel as needed.
  • Achieve and exceed metrics including value beyond savings, savings avoidance, reduction in cost and invoicing compliance.
  • Support and Lead as needed, Supplier Relationship Management Program and any Corporate Initiative as requested and aligned with Category Leads.
  • Support and Lead as needed, Regional sub-category strategy development and execution in conjunction with relevant category lead.
  • Support the annual budget process for the site operations, working closely with category leaders, site finance, site engineering, general management and GP finance with “right first time” standards.
  • Identifies local suppliers, best practices and ensure local perspective of Suppliers Diversity and Inclusion to support global initiative and objectives.
  • Ensures alignment with globally set policies and overlapping flow-charts for all standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Manages accurate reporting of Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) for supplier performance and compliance to contracted terms.

    Maintains timely control of documents and data to assure accurate retention of records and audit compliance and governance.
  • Develops effective relationships with key suppliers in a way that builds mutual respect, trust and drives performance in a manner consistent with the BMS pledge.
  • Works with department heads to identify new opportunities and involves Procurement for overall strategy alignment and seeks ways to improve overall service performance.
  • Provide Supplier Diversity vision and strategic direction for the site, leads Diversity initiatives& publishes diversity metrics and measures performance.
  • Traveling to US to BMS offices or suppliers as required.

Required experience and behaviors:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Procurement with experience in Indirect Services and Indirect materials, MRO material, preferred.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate to multiple levels within the company and at suppliers.
  • The ideal candidate is experienced in SAP/Ariba Procurement module.
  • Previous experience collaborating cross-functionally and implementing efficiency improvements in ERP systems.
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced environment and proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally as critical member of site team.
  • Must have a strong customer service orientation with excellent analytic, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from senior management.
  • Proactive, creative and analytic approach to continuous improvement in delivering procurement services and identifying new opportunities.
  • Able to work with people in diversified environments (cultures, functions, unique reporting relationships).
  • Understanding on the methodology, process and guidelines for conducting and implementing an efficient/effective indirect sourcing project
