PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Manages warehousing functions and inbound receiving orders. Responsible for the Traffic and Logistic operations, complying with DEA, US Customs, EH&S, FDA, cGMP’s Local, Federal and International regulations and Corporate Procedures. Leads operation of the Foreign Trade Zone. This position must comply with all Security guidelines, Environmental Health and Safety regulations, regulatory/compliance requirements, and the current Good Manufacturing Practices required by the job function.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages warehousing functions and inbound receiving orders. Maintains the inventory accuracy level within established policies. Establishes reviews and enforces the operational procedures for the Warehouse, Traffic, Foreign Trade Zone area. Establishes and maintains a timely and close coordination of activities and information with Manufacturing, Customer Service, Planning, Purchasing, QCIQA, Security and Engineering. Enforces the adherence to TSA, DOT, US Customs, FDA, EHS, GMP and Security programs and objectives. Ensures that materials classified (i.e Hazardous, FTZ, Rejected) are properly handled. Supervises operation of the Foreign Trade Zone. Submits accurate and timely administrative reports. Develops Supply Chain Management goals, aligned with those of the site and Technical Operations for Supply Chain integration. Approves and monitors Warehouse & Logistic budget and quarterly projections. Delivers on commitments with focus on inventories and department spending. Assures compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory agencies on matters related to Supply Chain Management, safety, and environmental. Develops procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with cGMP’s, internal control, BMS policies and business rules. Implements and monitors supply chain metrics and promote the utilization of SAP modules such as: Business Warehouse (BW,) among others to drive a continuous improvement based process and enable the delivery of IMPACT Strategies. Builds alignment with all operational groups for a seamless cross functional team and serves as liaison with other sites as well as customer and suppliers. Maintains strong relationship across the Supply Chain Network to build a fast flexible and reliable supply. Drives changes creating an environment that encourages continuous improvement.

DECISION MAKING

  • Incumbent is responsible of keeping the integrity of inventory data, receiving documentation taking into consideration existing procedures; Federal and State regulations; internal controls as well as the Company's objectives..
  • Lead government inspections (i.e. US Customs, TSA, DOT)
  • Compliance with BMS policies and regulatory agencies.
  • The incumbent is expected to participate in most major decisions related to Supply Chain management. Most decisions are executed without prior approval, following specific guidelines from upper management. Critical decisions are consulted as optimal alternatives are pursued through the participation of peer and Supervisor.
  • Makes different resource allocations recommendations/decisions consistent with priorities, creating new ideas and processes, delivering results, driving for continuous innovation and demonstrating principled leadership skills. Manages section’s budget, prioritizing projects and schedules as needed.

Minimum supervision in the handling of routine operations is received from supervisor. Objectives and goals are set yearly with the respective accountabilities/expectancies. Communication with supervisor is mainly driven as a way to inform and to advise of any deviation from agreed plans, progress on special assignments of projects, or critical operational situations.

CONTACTS

  • This position interacts on a continuous basis with BMS internal and external functions such as Engineering, Customer Service, QC/QA, Manufacturing, Human Resources, Technical Services, EHS and Finance, Packaging Technology Services, Central Sourcing (Regional/Global) and Global Supply Chain.

  • The position interacts with site customers and suppliers especially on the handling of non-routing situations.

  • The position interacts with government regulatory agency (FDA, Customs) in the event of site inspection


KNOWLEDGE / SKILL
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Materials Management, Engineering or science field.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry with at least 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience within a warehouse or distribution function.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes.
  • Proficient knowledge of personal computers and applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of SAP system data management
  • Working experience with MRP and Inventory Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, EHS and FDA Regulations.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) both in English / Spanish.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of distribution processes associated with Parenteral products, Biologics and cold chain management
  • Knowledge of contract vendor execution and vendor management.
  • Understands the PD&C (Product Development, and Commercialization) process.
  • In depth knowledge of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Experience leading technically complex projects.
  • Proven ability to exercise accurate judgment and being able to evaluate critical information and decide upon and to implement an appropriate course of action.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relations with colleagues at all levels across the organization,
  • Ability to integrate actions toward objectives.


WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Administrative office working environment. In some occasions, it may be necessary to visit areas where gowning is required. There is an occasional but controlled exposure to many chemicals at the plant scale. The exposure is minimized by the engineering controls build-in our facilities and the safety training policies, procedures mandated by the company and department program.
  • May be required to travel on a quarterly basis to participate in planning meetings and visit customers and suppliers
