University Recruitment Specialist

The Talent Acquisition Specialist, University Recruiting will oversee the campus relationships and intern recruiting program, including campus strategy, managing onsite events, and programmatic metrics.

The TA Specialist will also oversee the offer and pre-employment process for interns/co-ops. Additionally, this person will lead full cycle recruiting for key business-critical roles within the professional level and execute sourcing/talent pipeline for executive roles. Full cycle recruiting includes candidate pipeline development, sourcing and assessment of candidates, ensuring a top-notch candidate experience, candidate calibration and offer development. For the executive sourcing, the TA Specialist will utilize a variety of sources for candidate generation including r esearch (internal/external), networking, direct sourcing, internet recruiting, associations, advertising, industry events, employee referrals, community events and diverse organizations.

The TA Specialist will utilize recruitment technology including applicant tracking systems, candidate resource management database, interview technology, and social platforms.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

University Recruiting

Event Planning & Administration
  • Develop annual events calendar based on business needs and strategic partnerships
  • Establish close partnerships with identified universities and organizations
  • Secure Hershey representatives from recruiting departments to provide support at the event; secure senior leader speaker as necessary; coordinate necessary travel
  • Create and distribute event schedules that provide clear direction and responsibility to Hershey representatives
  • Interface directly with event leadership to ensure flawless execution of event for Hershey
  • Lead management of event contracts and third party vendors, as needed

  • Coordinate with business leadership to identify hiring needs
  • Oversee execution of requisitions by RPO partner

Process Improvement
  • Establish and track metrics to measure effectiveness of events
  • Conduct external market analytics of talent availability based on business needs
  • Recommend additional partnerships and process improvements to increas e

  • Responsible for executing approved sourcing strategies to generate a diverse pool of on-target candidates who are interested and qualified.
  • Build robust talent pipeline for key roles in the assigned client group to include critical roles and executive. As the initial candidate contact, this role is key in contacting prospects to generate interest in career opportunities and developing ongoing professional relationships with candidates.
  • Initiates telephone and email conversations with candidates who have not expressed an interest in The Hershey Company to present career opportunities, network and sell Hershey's employee value proposition.
  • Stays abreast of new tools, websites, and strategies for effective sourcing; tracks and monitors effectiveness of sourcing strategies.
  • Actively monitors and builds a presence on professional social networking sites, user groups, and blogs to capture active and passive talent.
  • Lead recruitment projects focused on identifying and attracting a diverse pool of candidates for various roles within the organization

Pre-Employment Process
  • Leads pre-employment process (background, drug screen, pre-boarding) for interns/co-ops
  • Ensures HR Coordination team (RPO) is processing accurate and approved offer letters and following our process and standards for drug screen and background checks.
  • Partners with legal team to make decisions on questionable results for pre-employment

Recruitment Process:
  • Expert knowledge of Hershey Talent Acquisition Policies and Procedures
  • Assist with questions and providing direction to recruitment RPO.
  • Ensures timely update of Applicant Tracking System (Success Factors) data throughout the recruitment process to guarantee accurate reporting data and active management of candidate and hiring manager expectations.
  • Works with Mgr, EEO on reporting needs for specified business unit up to and including assistance with OFCCP audits as it pertains to area of responsibility.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of a variety of sourcing tools, e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed Resume, Career Builder, Monster Resume, social media, etc.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with various levels within the organization and externally within the market
  • Knowledge of human resources including legal and regulatory compliance

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field is preferred

  • 3 years relevant experience in recruiting or Human Resources
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3+ years HR experience, preferably within recruitment
