Software Asset Management Specialist - Cisco Software

The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Optimization Specialist will be responsible for delivering ITAM projectbased engagements to CDW customers. This includes managing the project cycle from initial scoping through project planning, data collection, data validation, reconciliation, and final presentation of deliverables. This position requires direct customer interaction, licensing and technical expertise, and reconciling customer's licensing information to create an effective license position. The dual purpose of this role is to deliver best-in-class service and results to CDW customers and drive revenue.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Delivery
  • Reconcile customer deployment and procurement data within platform to create an effective license position
  • Deliver strategic consulting to customers in project-based engagements
  • Scope opportunities and draft statements of work
  • Actively position and demonstrate the value of the technology platform to customers during all phases of engagements, including presales
  • Achieve quarterly delivery targets
  • Lead data reconciliation of customer licensing and purchase history in engagements
  • Share best practices as well as licensing optimization opportunities with customers
  • Stay current on industry standards, licensing rules, and ITAM practices

Sales
  • Position, understand, and sell the value of CDW's ITAM practice to customers and CDW coworkers
  • Manage sales cycle and pipeline of opportunities
  • Achieve quarterly revenue and gross profit targets
  • Generate opportunities for ITAM sales including engagements, additional services, and platform sales


Education and/or Experience Qualifications
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in industry or IT working with software licensing

Other Required Qualifications
  • Confident with customer interactions, including extensive presentation experience
  • Proven ability to undertake and successfully complete special projects
  • Strong working knowledge of software licensing programs and rules
  • Proficient in data analysis and strategic planning capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize
  • Detail-oriented and self-driven
  • Strong communication skills
  • Possess sales skills necessary to drive and close opportunities
  • Must be able to meet delivery timeframe SLAs
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 3 years' experience in an IT Asset Management or software licensing role
  • Familiarity with industry leading ITAM solutions
  • Microsoft licensing expertise, including experience interpreting license statements
  • Microsoft Certified Professional licensing and/or SAM certifications
