The Senior Patient Experience Project Manager is responsible for supporting initiatives designed by the Central Quality CAHPS & HOS Leadership to improve all aspects of health care delivery. The Senior Patient Experience Project Manager responsibilities include coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas. Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques. Makes presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures project completion is on time and in scope. Develops various ad hoc reports and status updates to support initiatives. Leads and motivates quality teams and cross-functional business leaders to execute multiple projects in the various stages of a project life cycle.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with program/project initiative developers, training teams, business owners, clinical staff, providers and other stakeholders to ensure inputs, processes and outputs are captured and maintained for effective implementation
  • Defines/Manages Project Scope: able to lead end-to-end project execution and effectively communicate/socialize operational improvements throughout the enterprise
  • Manages/Controls Project Timelines and Resources: can forecast variances and trends throughout the project lifecycle to ensure a seamless transitions from project implementation to business
  • Manages/Controls Project Financials: able to create budgets, forecasts and obtain approvals from key stakeholders (e.g., cost-benefit analysis, staffing impact analysis/assessment)
  • Manages Project Quality: ensure that all project deliverables are in compliance with all applicable standards, regulations and ability to conduct analysis on project outcomes to make appropriate recommendations
  • Develops tools and reports to measure pre and post implementation effectiveness to CAHPS and HOS Ratings
  • Serves as a resource to the team, providers, regions/markets, internal departments, and external partners regarding project management, and /or process improvement
  • Attends educational offerings to keep abreast of change and comply with position requirements
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
  • Project work to include Off Season & Off Cycle Correlation Analysis, Patient Care Report Enhancements, PRP Business Related Documents and CAHPS and HOS Awareness

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or a related field (4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • 3+ years of independent project management successes by maintaining project timelines, limiting scope creep, adapting to project updates, and the ability to troubleshoot quickly/effectively
  • Experience documenting project milestones, program plan, detailed process flow, Job Aide, SOP and BVD
  • Experience interacting and consulting with all levels of management
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's in Health Administration, Finance, Public Health or Business Administration
  • Certification and/or training in a nationally recognized Change Management Methodology
  • PMP Certification or other certification in project management
  • Experience with Visio
  • Basic understanding of quality improvement standards such as NCQA, HEDIS, CAHPS, HOS and CMS
  • Basic understanding of concepts and practices of Six Sigma

Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
