Program Manager, Strategic Initiatives

Global Operations' focus is on improving the health of our products and helping people understand how to use them through both direct support interactions as well as scalable solutions. Scaled Operations (within Global Operations) manages the human expertise required for the integrity and experience of our community and business. If you like helping people, Global Operations is for you.The Scaled Operations Strategic Programs team is seeking an experienced program manager to handle complex, global initiatives aligned with and driven out of the Scaled Operations organization, and help build out best-in-class program management capabilities. The right candidate will enjoy and thrive in working in a fast-paced environment but be able to effectively build structure and inculcate the same culture to their team of experienced program managers.

Required Skills

  • Frame and scope the problem statement, build requirements, enable resourcing, work with cross-functional stakeholders (including leadership), identify dependencies, reduce risks and drive the initiative progress on a weekly basis
  • Drive communications strategy for the initiatives, qualitative and quantitative analysis of the program performance and track/ensure program and industry impact
  • Explore new strategic opportunities, in the course of program management to inform the future roadmap, for leadership consideration
  • Support a team to develop and manage end-to-end programs and ensure outcomes and successful delivery
  • Provide thought leadership and drive structure for the Strategic Programs Management function, as well as for the team
  • Requires at least 10-20% international travel

Minimum Qualification

  • Understanding of Outsourcing, Contingent Workforce including CW models and pricing frameworks
  • Impeccable business judgment, along with a natural inclination to formulate hypotheses, design tests, and use problem-solving techniques to evaluate solutions
  • Leadership skills in influencing and managing change. Experience leveraging knowledge and skills across multiple ongoing programs and stakeholders to drive change, motivate teams and deliver or support to deliver initiatives
  • Strength in cross-functional collaboration with demonstrated expertise in driving complex highly ambiguous programs with multiple stakeholders. Experience facilitating brainstorming sessions to gather requirements
  • Content creation and presentation skills - experience building and delivering executive leadership content
  • Experience supporting and enabling cross-functional stakeholders/teams within and beyond Scaled Operations
  • Experience understanding the background, frame the problem and go on 'enablement' mode to drive to a solution
  • Solid communications skills
  • 6+ years demonstrated track record in managing high functioning team, coaching developing and elevating team skillset
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully managing ambitious, strategic, and operationally complex projects with internal and external (to SO) cross-functional teams
  • Experience planning, budgeting and running financial advisory and operations programs in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualification

  • MBA or Master's degree in a management, technical, or engineering field. Management consulting work experience preferred
  • Experience in operational excellence and process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean
  • Experience in Policy/Operations/Program management leadership
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, or equivalent program management experience within Facebook or in technology & service outsourcing
  • 8+ years of experience working in large-scale operations, domains such as online operations, informational systems, management consulting, process improvements
