Core Job Responsibilities

The Paralegal is an intermediate individual contributor position on the commercial legal team for Abbott's nutrition products business. The Paralegal must:
  • Prepare, negotiate, and modify commercial agreements such as marketing services agreements, healthcare customer agreements, retail customer agreements, professional services agreements, and non-disclosure agreements
  • Perform substantive legal work that requires knowledge of legal concepts and identify moderately complex legal issues related to assigned matters
  • Coordinate input on contractual matters from internal stakeholders such as commercial, compliance, privacy, risk management, and regulatory affairs
  • Independently perform analysis of unique problems and propose solutions in a collaborative way with team attorneys
  • Demonstrate an ability to absorb and master knowledge of Abbott's business
  • Represent the commercial legal team internally to other departments such as marketing, sales, procurement and research & development
  • Help organize and maintain all agreements in a document management system
  • Maintain agreement templates and coordinate updates to the same

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant legal education (Paralegal certificate)
  • 4 or more years of corporate legal experience
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with contract negotiation experience in a healthcare, retail, and/or large law firm setting
