Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for a Supplier Quality Project Leader.

The primary function of the Global Supplier Quality Assurance (GSQA) group is to assure a high-quality supply of incoming materials through evaluation and development of Abbott Nutrition suppliers worldwide. GSQA is responsible for working and communicating with suppliers as part of an ongoing supply management process. GSQA supports systems such as: supplier qualification, supplier development, supplier monitoring, and supplier event management. In addition, GSQA supports the plant quality assurance, operations and purchasing groups globally to ensure that proper incoming material documentation involving CAPA, testing/release, acceptance plans, and specifications are compliant to Corporate and regulatory requirements.


The GSQA Project Leader should exhibit excellent communication and leadership skills. The Project Leader will be expected to manage multiple projects and responsibilities, including:
  • Manage the service provider quality system processes including the quality agreements, assessments, and facilitating the monitoring of service providers.
  • Manage the distribution and completion of quality agreements and supplier expectations for packaging suppliers.
  • Manage the approved supplier list and assuring compliance to internal policies and regulations.
  • Manage the CAPA system for service suppliers with resolution and approval of exception reports.
  • Provide support for the compliance and maintenance of GSQA policies and procedures associated with the purchasing controls quality system.
  • Provide support to manufacturing plants by providing training on service suppliers and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for systems utilized by GSQA for maintenance and enhancements.
  • Provide support for the GSQA management operating system with creating and distributing metrics reports and supplier scorecards.
  • Provide support for supplier audits including qualification, supplier excellence, and for-cause audits as required.
  • Provide support for supplier changes through routing and overseeing the impact assessment and approval process are compliant to procedures.
  • Maintain GSQA Packaging Quality Systems, such as those related to Material Acceptance Plans and Certification Program.
  • Develop, plan, and perform compliance monitoring program of GSQA Quality Systems.
  • Support the impact assessment and implementation of Corporate Initiatives impacting GSQA, as applicable.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in operation, engineering, supply chain
  • The GSQA Project Leader should have at least 5 years of experience in quality assurance or related experience in operations. The Project Leader should meet and/or exceed the Abbott

Core Competency requirements, as well as:
  • 1. Possess knowledge of manufacturing processes (production, logistics, and engineering) and quality assurance principles.
  • 2. Possess technical understanding of different technologies, product quality systems and supplier programs and be able to provide consultation and recommendations to help suppliers improve their performance.
  • 3. Have experience in working independently through troubleshooting complex issues.
  • 4. Have the ability to successfully interact and communicate with internal and external cross functional teams and leadership.
  • 5. Demonstrate the ability to manage several activities / projects at once, to organize / prioritize work, to meet deadlines and to prepare plans and reports.
