The position of Power BI Developer is within our Toxicology business located in Lake Forest, IL. In this role, you will support data driven decision making in the commercial organization by assessing business needs, clarifying requirements, and developing end-user business intelligence solutions. You will play a critical role in supporting the global commercial excellence organization and Abbott Toxicology's business analytics needs and advancement.

  • Solid knowledge of data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview), data modeling, DAX and transformation techniques.
  • Complete solution life cycle (SLC) process to gather requirements, design, develop, test, and maintain Power BI visualizations and reports.
  • Ensure the right information is identified at the right time and at the appropriate level for reporting purposes. Implement row level security.
  • Be accountable for the accuracy of the data presented to commercial organization BI users through the execution of validation processes and testing.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as high level attention to detail.

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in data preparation, data model and data warehousing.
  • 1 or more years of direct experience using data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview) as an enterprise reporting solution.
  • Good understanding of SQL and ETL/data modeling skills.

  • MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders and groups while supporting a commercial organization.
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be highly analytical; possess strong interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguous business needs where learning and adaptability are key.
  • Motivated and results-oriented, creative thinker and problem solver.
