Position Description:

The Associate Director - GPO Value Chain Management Finance is responsible for the financial evaluation & analysis of proposed initiatives within Our Companies Global Pharmaceutical Operation ("GPO") manufacturing organization. Working in collaboration with both the Development & Commercialization Team (DCT) and the Value Chain Management (VCM) Team, the selected candidate will support our company's small molecule portfolio of Human Health products through the life of the supply value chain. The key therapeutic areas supported include our HIV, HCV and Hospital products.

This position provides business and financial decision support to ensure robust, enterprise-wide decisions are made to optimize our Manufacturing Division's supply chain and manufacturing network as our products go through their life cycle (pre-launch, launch, in-line, loss of exclusivity etc.).

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Partner with the GPO teams (DCT Project lead, VCM Leads, Product Leaders/Managers) to support products through the supply value chain. Examples of areas of business decision support which require financial analyses include the following:
    • Sourcing - New product siting (internal/ external), Dual sourcing (risk mitigation), LOE sourcing strategy, 3rd party direct materials sourcing
    • Capacity assessments (Strategic Asset Management)
    • Supply Chain optimization
    • Manufacturing process optimization
    • Return on capital investments (in support of approved initiatives above)
    • Other strategic analyses as required
  • Lead financial evaluation activities required as part of on-going operational support of the portfolio of Value Chain Management and Product teams.
    • Value stream mappings
    • Risk Authorization assessments
    • Cost of Goods analyses
    • Working capital analyses
  • Collaborate with other Finance leaders within our Manufacturing Division's Finance and across divisional finance functions to ensure alignment of analyses being performed, recommendations being made, and understanding of variables being considered from a manufacturing and economic cost
  • Act as a steward of our company's financial information, specifically our Manufacturing Division's manufacturing cost information


Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:
  • Undergraduate required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration


Required Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Finance and Accounting experience required
  • Financial modelling (e.g. discounted cash flow modeling, NPV/NPC) experience preferred
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) with strong communication skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive working style
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remain focused through change or ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to work across different functions (GHH, MRL, Corporate)and with all levels of management to drive and achieve results
  • Manufacturing and/ or Cost Accounting experience preferred


Technical Skills Requirements
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Proficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Ability to synthesize data and create visualizations for executive presentations and summaries
  • Strong organizational skills required to coordinate and manage multiple projects (project management experience preferred)
