Job Description

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience. Master's Degree and 4 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. Certification Equivalency: PMP, CPIM and AICP

Preferred Qualifications

Produces, reviews, and issues construction agendas for review in sufficient time to allow for adequate preparation prior to agenda meeting.Schedules and chairs agenda meetings providing updates and changes as necessary (this includes work package status changes, Inspection Report linkage changes, key event changes, and schedule change requests).Works with departmental programmers providing feedback ensuring reporting and IT tools are the highest quality.Interacts with the project support teams to resolve any issues with work packages to facilitate the clearing of liabilities for final closure.In addition, candidate must have strong working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office software.Candidate must possess strong administrative and communication skills, be self-motivated, willing to learn new concepts, able to resolve complex issue and be very responsive to changing circumstances.This function is accomplished in a team environment with Trade and Project supervisory personnel, therefore, strong collaborative skills are essential.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Lifting of up to 25 lbs
- Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection
- Work within a close quarters manufacturing and ship construction environment
- Occasionally stoop, reach, kneel, crouch, climb, twist and walk
- Use hands to handle, touch and manipulate items
- Have vision abilities to include proximate vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus as well as to be able to effectively see and process computer generated images on a screen or hand-held device
