Position Specific Description

As a summer intern with the Nuclear Fuels organization, you will primarily be responsible for supporting nuclear engineeringactivitiesincluding core design, core analyses and project management tasks geared at delivering fuel assemblies and related services to the Fleet'snuclear reactors. These activities rely on several specialized computer applications usedthroughout the industry.Youwill interact with Nuclear Fuels and Reactor Engineering personnel on specific assignments in support of optimizing operations of the organization.You will also be expected to support the development of in-house automation tools and codes to be used by Nuclear Fuels and Reactor Engineering.If this fits your career goals, apply today!

Preferred majors include Nuclear, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines. Sophomore or Junior level class standing preferred. Programming experience with Python or Excel VBA are a plus!

Job Overview

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor's degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists department with assigned projects
  • Completes challenging projects and assignments
  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
