This role serves as the trusted advisor to the chief executive officer (CEO) to help determine, articulate and execute business vision, mission, strategies and tactics to achieve business goals. The position is responsible for responding to requests, leading and executing special projects. The individual will have an understanding of and an appreciation for healthcare, and demonstrate strong initiative, compassion, resourcefulness, confidentiality and sound independent judgment in handling a wide variety of complex and specialized strategic, communication and administrative functions. Additionally, this role will lead administrative functions within the organization, to include, the training and education department. The role includes the facilitation of the implementation of standardized processes to effectively identify, monitor and report the effects of education and training and advocate for the establishment of intelligent design systems to enhance communication between patients, patient care givers, clinicians, and healthcare teams.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supports development of business strategies, providing insight and recommendations and ensuring alignment across the organization
  • Champion and coordinate with stakeholders to identify opportunities and the means to implement objective driven education and training support to optimize the value and quality of healthcare delivered by WellMed employed, affiliated and contract providers, ancillary staff, and facilities
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues throughout the organization in order to exchange or convey information and foster strategic partnerships
  • Facilitate project management and adherence to deadlines
  • Tracks progress against plans, identifies any deviations and suggests plans to remediate; provides reports and analysis as required
  • Understands and helps prioritize projects, business initiatives and strategic plans
  • Attends and supports all key internal meetings - deciphers critical information, investigates issues, answers critical questions, ensures timely follow up of all action items
  • Anticipates, manages preparation for, and, when appropriate facilitates meetings and events on behalf of the CEO
  • Ability to handle complex situations, conflicts and issues effectively; is sensitive to how people and organizations function
  • Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally and lead toward common goals
  • Ability to drive change, influence individuals at all levels of the organization and to take appropriate risks; builds consensus
  • Serves an enterprise wide information center to ensure consistent cascading of strategic goals and initiatives
  • Educate all levels of the organization to clarify and understand the details of the strategic plan and how departmental goals connect to the corporate goals; ensures alignment of departmental and organizational plans to enterprise goals

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience operating in a leadership level role within a large, complex organizations and proven success working in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing executive-level presentations and reports
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a training & development organization
  • Trusted advisor with excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with executives and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and deliver projects to completion with quick turnarounds at times
  • Outstanding analytical, project management and influencing skills
  • Results oriented, solid collaboration, problem solving and negotiation skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $130,300 to $250,200. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $130,300 to $250,200. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
