Job Description

About This Role

The successful candidate will join the Bioassay Development and Analytics (BioDnA) Group in the Analytical Development Department to support development, optimization, qualification, execution and troubleshooting of bioassays to characterize recombinant protein and biosimilar programs.

WhatYou’llDo
  • Develop, optimize, and perform assays to measure Fab-target binding, Fc-Fc Receptor binding, as well as cell-based assays to analyze Fab and Fc functions.
  • Support the generation and characterization of reagents for the assays mentioned above.
  • Design and implement experiments, support sample testing, data analysis, documents/reports writing and reviewing.
  • Present scientific data at internal and external meetings/conferences.
  • Contribute to new technology evaluation and implementation.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team. Serve as a mentor for junior scientists.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Scientist I
  • Bachelor's degree incell biology, immunology or related biological sciences disciplinewith 6+ years of industry experience OR
  • Master's degreeincell biology, immunology or related biological sciences disciplinewith 4+ years of industry experience OR
  • Ph.D. incell biology, immunology or related biological sciences disciplinewith 0+years of experience

Scientist II
  • Bachelor's degree incell biology, immunology or related biological sciences disciplinewith 8+ years of industry experience OR
  • Master's degreeincell biology, immunology or related biological sciences disciplinewith 6+ years of industry experience OR
  • Ph.D. incell biology, immunology or related biological sciences disciplinewith 2+years of related industry experience

Required Skills
  • In-depth understanding of antibody structure and function, and familiarity with various detection technologies, such as fluorescence, luminescence, FRET, ELISA, MSD, Octet, etc.
  • Advanced experience with mammalian cell culture

Preferred Skills
  • Strong publication record highly preferred
  • Proficiency in good documentation practices, data analysis, reporting and review.
  • Strong team player with ability to execute tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn (new methods, drug development processes, new modalities, etc.) and ability to demonstrate scientific curiosity and innovation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior experience in industry, especially in Analytical Development.
  • Previous work with biologics or biosimilars.
  • Experience with statistical approaches for assay development and data analysis.
