Business Intelligence Specialist Intern, Infrastructure Data Centers

Facebook is seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist Intern to join its Business Strategy & Planning team supporting the Facility Operations and Data Center Infrastructure organization. The ideal candidate will have a passion for understanding business processes, conducting data driven analysis to identify gaps with emphasis on process improvement. Your skills will be key for designing, setting up and implementing a cost and financial control system, financial software applications, as well as business intelligence tools. You will also be instrumental in implementing strategic global programs across Facebook's data centers. This person will have a keen interest in tactical execution of finance and business processes, predictive analysis of large data sets and ability to understand complex processes related to operations and maintenance in critical environments.

Required Skills

  • Develop and facilitate sound business processes in operational finance/budget to support and enable the Facilities Operations (FacOps) teams to be successful.
  • Use data to provide trend analysis and make meaningful recommendations to drive action towards more predictable financial performance based on known business changes.
  • Seek feedback from the field and help the program leads improve processes to create efficiency and facilitate decision-making.
  • Provide for presentation of data in a comprehensible manner to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and work as one team to get a good understanding of end-to-end processes.
  • Produce dashboards, track mechanisms, and analyze data to allow assessment of financial health and to support key business decisions.
  • Work closely with the product engineering team to identify and answer important product questions.
  • Answer product questions by using appropriate statistical techniques on available data.
  • Communicate findings to product managers and engineers.
  • Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.
  • Analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.
  • Develop best practices for instrumentation and experimentation and communicate those to product engineering teams.

Minimum Qualification

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in construction management, accounting, finance, engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, sensitivity analysis, risk assessment and project management. Experience with Excel, Tableau and SQL.
  • Experience with Excel, Tableau and SQL.
  • Analytical skills with affinity for data, analytics and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable communicating across multiple stakeholders.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualification

  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
  • Experience with financial control systems, financial software applications, as well as business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with change management and implementing global programs.
  • Background and interest in process improvement and gap analysis.
  • Familiarity with data center OpEx and CapEx management.
