Senior Scientist - Molecular Profiling, Genome & Biomarker Sciences

Job Description

This is a Senior Scientist position in the Molecular Profiling group, performing targeted and NGS gene expression profiling to support basic research, preclinical and development activities and translational biomarker work. This high throughput lab requires an organized, highly motivated individual who can collaborate with investigators across multiple organizations in the development of therapeutic targets.

Job responsibilities include the following:
  • Provide insight and guidance in experimental design for gene expression-based work
  • Wet-lab support to project-based work including Ribose Nucleic Acid (RNA) isolation and gene expression profiling
  • Present and lead discussions on experimental results and data interpretation
  • Serve as Molecular Profiling representative to early discovery and pre-clinical teams

Position Qualifications:
  • B.S. with 7+ years of experience, M.S. with 4+ years of experience, or PhD with Post Doc experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation
  • Experience with targeted RT-qPCR and NGS platforms
  • Experience with multi-omics NGS platforms, low cell number sorted populations, and/or single-cell RNAseq
  • Experience in analysis of mid-density and/or whole transcriptomics gene expression data types
  • Must have good communication skills and be comfortable working in a team environment
  • Must have good organization and time management skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge in Immunology
  • Experience with RNA/DNA QC platforms such as the Qubit, Fragment Analyzer, Agilent Bioanalyzer or Tapestation
  • Experience with liquid automation for sample RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library prep
  • Experience with NGS analysis data visualization software such as Cell Ranger, Partek, OmniBrowser, or BioTuring
  • Familiarity with computer software: Illumina BaseSpace, Omicsoft, TIBCO Spotfire, Graphpad Prism, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis
