Job Description

WGL Project Cost Analyst
The Analyst will collect and analyze cost information related to construction projects. The Analyst also conducts periodic cost studies to ensure exception costs are captured by Cost Estimators. The position uses data analysis and reporting software such as SAP, SQL, SAS or Python to collect data from disparate data systems across multiple software platforms to complete analytics. **We are open to hiring at the Sr. level depending on level of experience.

You Will
• Collect and analyze information from various sources to determine construction project costs in support of multiple Project Managers
• Analyze variances between designed spend to actual spend including contractors' and allocated costs, and identify reasons for variance
• Work with Cost Estimator, Engineers and other relevant parties to ensure estimated costs are correctly reflecting current cost structures
• Conduct various cost studies to ensure exception costs are captured in project cost estimates and communicated to relevant parties
• Maintain the documentation of data and any statistical arrangement used in various cost studies
• Assist with programmatic initiatives, training and alignment opportunities to achieve continuous process improvement
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget to make sure that cost calculations are in line with historical trends and/or contractual considerations

You Must Have
• Bachelor's Degree Business, Data Science, Finance, Engineering, or other relatable quantitative field preferred
• 3+ Years estimating or cost experience, preferably for construction projects required
• Good analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating abundant information with accuracy
• Proficiency using Excel, SQL and/or Python to retrieve, analyze, and present information
• Experience working through the entire project life cycle preferred
• Working knowledge of WG enterprise systems preferred. (ARM, SAP, Peoplesoft, Powerplant, Smallworld)
