Job Description

WGL Construction Business Analyst

The Analyst will be responsible for designing and deploying meaningful analysis, reports and metrics to drive construction performance. The Analyst will measure and track current performance, and support project scheduling, cost tracking, & resource planning. The Analyst will provide timely, actionable information to decision makers in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple projects and deadlines. The position uses data analysis and reporting software such as SAP, SQL, SAS and Tableau to collect data from disparate data systems across multiple software platforms to complete analytics.

You Will

  • Produces routine reporting and analysis accurately per established deadlines
  • Develops timely, accurate, in-depth analysis and provides support to project management in cost, schedule, variance analysis, and produces a variety of management reports
  • Ensures data quality and data integrity from multiple systems, and work with Project Managers to achieve improved information in systems and reports when identified.
  • Initiates data cleansing in systems and reports when identified by working with cross-functional teams within the organization
  • Works with appropriate resources and end users to identify, design, test and implement new performance metrics and reports
  • Prepares analyses and presentations to support recommendations to all levels of the organization
  • Provide regular and accurate responses to customer requests for information gathering and analysis.
  • Develops an expertise with key systems, such as the work management systems (ARM+SAP), financial systems (Peoplesoft + Powerplant), and mapping system (Small World)
  • Develops a subject matter expertise related to construction processes and supporting analytics to assist leadership with solving problems
  • Supports data gathering for construction related regulatory requests as needed.
  • Retrieves and analyzes data to supports special projects or ad hoc business case preparation
  • Assists with process improvements by leveraging knowledge and understanding of systems, data & processes
  • Supports the efforts to standardized reporting procedures and the monitoring of overall project performance.

You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics or other relatable quantitative field preferred
  • 3+ Years demonstrated proficiency performing data analysis to support business decisions
  • Proficiency using Excel, SAP, SQL and/or SAS to retrieve, analyze, and present information
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex problems, and drive to results with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of WG enterprise systems preferred. (ARM, SAP, Peoplesoft, Powerplant, Smallworld)
  • Working knowledge of regulated utility industry practices preferred, or demonstrated ability to produce quality project management deliverables i.e. Project Status Reports, preferred
