WGL - Senior Integrated Planning Analyst

Are you a critical thinker who is looking for another challenge? WGL is seeking an Senior Integrated Planning Analyst to assists in the business and operational planning processes for the regulated utilities. You will be responsible for the formulation, execution and monitoring of operating and capital business performance. You will be responsible for data analysis and reporting software such as ARM, SAP, SQL, CLICK, SAP HANA, Business Objects and Power BI within Washington Gas' Utility Operations.

You will

  • Assist with timely and accurate submission of data request for internal and external parties, including BOD executive summary, rate case, customer escalations, etc., utilizing SAP, ARM, PeopleSoft and other systems
  • Solve complex problems related to workload, performance and productivity in the Operations' area by using technology tools such as WMIS, SAP and Smallworld establishing metrics and recommending new solutions to work approach as required to meet business objectives
  • May resolve problems where precedent does not exist
  • Maintain performance metrics, run queries and reports using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and other systems for Utility Operations, including KPIs
  • Assist in budget and forecasting by providing meta-budget analytics
  • Gain understanding of various operations business processes and leverages gained to support development and delivery of reports, dashboards and management information
  • Monitor and coordinates the business units' activities to support operational performance management
  • Collaborate with cross functional internal departments and external vendors on the development of KPIs
  • Perform analysis to identify and implement efficiency improvements in resource management
  • Maintain productivity and quality metrics for Utility Operations personnel
  • Retrieve and analyzes data to support ad-hoc business needs and strategic decisions through identifying and troubleshoots data errors within WG systems of records and recommends solutions accordingly
  • Provide business intelligence support by creating metrics, reports, analyzing and mining data related to customer information, billing and ensuring data integrity; assists in the development of complex analytical reports to support business metrics/measurements for internal stakeholders
  • Work independently with general supervision

You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree business, statistics, math or related quantitative field preferred
  • 5+ years experience working with business information systems, including SAP, Oracle, WMIS/ARM, PeopleSoft, or similar
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify relevant issues in recommending business problems using data analysis tools
  • Experience in energy/utilities industry
  • Experience using BI tools such as SQL, Tableau, HANA, Business Objects and Power BI
