Software Developer

The Mathematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory has an opening for a term software developer in the IDEAS-ECP Project. The overarching goal of the project isto support various Exascale Computing Project (ECP) teams in software productivity. A group from University of Oregon is developing code analysis tools under a subcontract from Argonne to help ECP teams improve their productivity. The Oregon group needs a software developer to prepare several of these tools for deployment, and also in further development of some of the tools.

This is a one year position, with a possibility of extension depending upon availability of funds to provide needed help to the Oregon group.

Position Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering
  • Experience with more than one programming language, proficiency in python, and a willingness to learn rapidly on the job
  • Effective communication and collaboration with software engineers, and occasionally also with researchers in various science disciplines within the ECP portfolio
