Pharmacovigilance (PV) Technician Manager

Position Description:

The Pharmacovigilance Manager oversees a team of Pharmacovigilance (PV) Technicians (Our Company's employees and possibly contractors) managing the day-to-day activities of the PV Call Center. This position may also serve as the pharmacovigilance liaison to the Global Quality group and Global Pharmacovigilance group.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the PV Call center, including overseeing a team of veterinary technicians (Our company's employees and possibly contractors) successfully logging product complaints and adverse events, associated with the Companion Animal portfolio.
  • Determine appropriate staffing needs for the Call Center and strategize on short-term and long-term departmental growth and structure.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Train and be a resource for PV Techs on customer service, PV procedures, SOP's, data entry, and other Call Center responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with PV Tech Managers/Leads to maintain the Tech Schedule and new hire training/shadowing.
  • Monitor calls and provide feedback and coaching to direct reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with direct reports on management of cases and be available for escalated calls when needed.
  • Monitor the complaint database (PV Works) and review/release cases to Global PV according to internal timelines to maintain compliance, as needed.
  • May work with the PV Business Systems Lead, to represent the PV Techs and ensure the needs of the Pharmacovigilance Department are met.
  • Generate and circulate analysis reports as needed for the Companion Animal PV Department.
  • Liaise with Global Quality on product quality issues and reporting and with Global PV regarding product complaints and releasing comments as needed.


This position is a team leader and individual contributor with the ability to motivate others and maintain the integrity of the information in the pharmacovigilance database. This position is remote-based.

Position Qualifications :

Education Minimum Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in technical service support for a veterinary pharmaceutical, biological or nutritional company.
  • Requires 3 years related experience in the veterinary field. Previous work in a private veterinary practice is plus.


Required Experience and Skills:
  • Strong leadership ability to coordinate the activities of the Call Center
  • Ability to manage resources effectively
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to successfully partner cross functionally with Global Quality, Marketing, IT and Global PV colleagues.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of PV-Works database and the ability to read and comprehend government regulations on pharmacovigilance.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including MS Office products, PV Works and other software systems.
