Senior Methodologist | Mail Survey Expert (Remote U.S.)

As a senior methodologist at Gallup, you will work directly with our clients in the public, private and social sectors conducting quantitative and qualitative research to answer their most pressing questions. You will work with clients on overall research and study design by advising them on how to conduct research to fulfill their mission and get results. You will work with clients to determine which data collection mode they should use given their unique needs and industry best practices. You will also design data collection instruments and survey items and conduct cognitive interviews. You will advise on sampling strategies for reaching the general population and low-incidence samples. When the data collection is complete, you will explore the findings and support clients in understanding and using their discoveries.

What you need:
  • A master's degree or doctoral degree plus 6 years paid professional work in survey research or related field; formal coursework in survey methodology required
  • Experience in multimode survey design, questionnaire design, pretesting methods, survey implementation and improving strategies to increase response rates required
  • Expertise in mail survey using address-based sampling
  • Familiarity with and ability to evaluate sample frames and sampling procedures is required.
  • General knowledge of data cleaning and weighting is required
  • Proficiency in a statistician package such as SPSS, Stata or SAS required
