  • Leads Packaging Documentation Services with responsibility for implementing processes and systems that ensure uninterrupted business continuity through accurate information in the Electronic Packaging Specification System (EPSS), Abbott Labeling Information System (ALIS), Commodity Request Process (CRP), Sales Force Price Justifications and related applications.
  • Responsible to assist in execution of packaging document changes, maintenance of job aid content and training of system users.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure excellent service levels across Engineering and Quality functional areas.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Monitors compliance of department documents, policies and procedures with regulations, by ensuring that required documentation is complete, correct revisions are in use, policies and procedures are understood and adhered to and records are maintained and controlled according to validated procedures.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures, to ensure operations comply, promotes positive business relationships and ensures that company interests are represented.
  • Writes job aids and maintains their accuracy. Provides training to all system users on a regular basis.
  • Makes day-to day decisions that impact area by analyzing situations, considering alternative solutions, and reaching conclusions that are in alignment with company regulations and policies.
  • Provides recommendations and alternatives on systems and/or organizational improvements to facilitate operational business requirements.
  • Reviews all CRP and ALIS commodity requests and independently completes packaging information. Understands impact of new and form, fit or function requests on CRP and ALIS Commodity requests.
  • Processes changes and mass modified commodity specifications referencing revised generic specifications and updates Packaging Bill of Materials (PBOMs). Reviews and approves all Document Change Approval (DCA) requests routing in the EPSS In Process database.


  • High school diploma plus experience and/or education in work requiring understanding and application of technical information, databases and electronic approval processes.
  • 2 to 4 years' experience in documents administration processing.
  • Demonstrated communication skills is required with technical employees to achieve accuracy and clarity of data and communications. Level of autonomy, analytical skills, stakeholder management (at working and manager level), grammatically correct written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy of data input/review/approval.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with flexibility, set priorities and has adaptable problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain and communicate documentation changes.
  • Knowledge of terminology related to critical documentation areas.
  • Requires very good understanding of the organization to insure appropriate routing/review of documents. Also requires an understanding of critical parameters and the effect that changes to these parameters might have on other documents.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required
  • Computer proficiency is required. Experience with a variety of programs, preferably Lotus Notes, Excel, Word, Visio, DevEX, Teamcenter, etc.
  • Ability to work autonomously
