Job Description

Reporting to the Sr. Manager HR Systems & Solutions, we are looking for a dynamic Principal HR Data Analytics with excellent executive communication skills and ability to use data to develop human capital data strategy, with a background in technology, business analytics and intelligence, and strong logic and problem solving. This role's responsibility is centered on growing a strategy for HR data Analytics capabilities and new technologies to support Global Amgen functional groups, within the People Services organization.


  • Principal function responsible for leading the progress of the business analytics functions with HR data and a team of HR Data Managers.
  • Heavy emphasis on business partnering and subject matter expertise in not only data but how the business operates to apply HR Data as a Service concept throughout Amgen.
  • The Principal will apply their strong knowledge of big data industry trends to support innovative and progressive roadmap.
  • Will be proactive in leading large projects.
  • Implement Amgen IS City Planning principles to streamline software usage and improve or reduce vendor costs/licenses.
  • Assist in the development of analytic knowledge alignments across the organization.
  • Hire, train and develop team of HR Data Managers
  • Research, recommend and implement HR data as a service analytic solutions that help us provide business data insights to functional business groups outside of HR.
  • Develop and manage Agile project plans, including the identification of resourcing needs, roadblocks and ongoing data and metric needs.
  • Own the data journey by establishing a framework for HR analytics and bringing dashboarding to life. Move from producing reporting to create analytics to driving predictive analytics future.


  • Strategic roadmap development
  • Experience with implementation of Big Data platforms
  • SME knowledge of Human Resources business processes, and Global Business Services function operations
  • Ability to establish relationships with multiple functional senior leaders
  • Executive communication skills
  • Presentation skills over WebEx
  • Ability to manage remote workers
  • Strong initiative taking to push industry analytic trends to customer groups
  • 1-2 years experience with business intelligence and analytics development
  • Ability too work independently

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of HR Metrics, Human Resources, HR Data Analysis or corporate communications related data experience


Master's degree and 4 years of HR Metrics, Human Resources, HR Data Analysis or corporate communications related data experience


Bachelor's degree and 6 years of HR Metrics, Human Resources, HR Data Analysis or corporate communications related data experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of HR Metrics, Human Resources, HR Data Analysis or corporate communications related data experience


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of HR Metrics, Human Resources, HR Data Analysis or corporate communications related data experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Executive-level communication skills
  • Strategic Planning and Execution for People analysis program development
  • Actionable Insight catalog creation with people data
  • People listening industry trends roadmap development
  • Experience with enterprise data lake solutions and HR data security frameworks
  • Business acumen with intersections of people data and corporate business functions
