Senior Automation & QA Specialist

Role Value Proposition:

We are seeking an associate that will be a critical member of the Investments Agile Center of Excellence team supporting a portfolio of $100M+ consisting of approximately 80+ applications. The ideal candidate will work with teams of developers, architects, agile coaches, senior leaders and subject matter experts to develop, implement, socialize, and sustain complex test automation solutions in a continuous integration environment. Its expected that this candidate be a self-starter with a strong sense of quality, knowledge of agile automation techniques and tools; and accountable for enabling continuous testing for various software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use your knowledge of testing to influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, and testability
  • Plan, drive and contribute to the development and continued improvements to the automation framework(s) with the goal of building smoke and regression testing, increasing quality, reducing testing time, and improving defect identification
  • Collaborate with business/SMEs and Dev team to determine acceptance criteria for user stories
  • Guide teams to drive automation of all test automation candidates
  • Follow best practices when developing automation code including comment documentation, maintainability, and data-driven development
  • Troubleshoot environmental set-up issues related to automation
  • Keep current with quality testing, trends, techniques, tools and processes
  • Recommend continuous process improvement ideas to leadership and Product teams
  • Create and maintain standard coding documentation
  • Provide regular status updates to project team and QA Manager regarding progress
  • Interact and collaborate with different level SMEs and stakeholders in the organization

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • IT experience working with distributed teams
  • BA/BS degree required with major in technology or business related field strongly preferred
  • 3+ working experience in a DevOps model, delivering code through CI/CT/CD pipeline and using tools (ex: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Maven and git)
  • 3+ years of experience with full software development life cycle, software engineering best practices, and QA processes and best practices in accordance with Agile/SCRUM practices
  • 2+ Working experience with automation framework like Protractor, Rest Assured and Selenium WebDriver
  • 2+ years of experience using versioning software like Azure DevOps, git

  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration Tools such as Jenkins, Maven to quickly learn and apply new technical skills.
  • Hands-on oftware development experience using Java, .net, JavaScript or similar language.
  • Eperience with building and testing REST micro services using test automation frameworks
  • Skills with tools for Test Data management and Service Virtualization
  • Experience with SAFe, DevOps and Continuous testing
