Department Overview

At TD Securities, the Municipal Products Group (Public Finance and Muni S&T) function is an integral part of the full suite of services we provide. The team covers all sectors within the municipal finance space such as state and local governments, power and utilities, higher education, housing, not-for-profit healthcare and transportation.

The Municipal Products Group team interacts frequently with other areas of the Bank, including: Debt Capital Markets, Credit Management, Municipal Sales, Trading and Underwriting, Market Risk Solutions, and Fixed Income Sales and Trading.

Job Description

Analyst will work with seasoned public finance bankers and will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful municipal securities originator. Analyst will be part of the broader Global Debt Capital Markets business allowing for cross-functional experience and interaction with market participants, including our issuer clients.

Job Requirements

• Ensure that each prospective or live transaction receives the appropriate underwriting approvals under TD Securities approved procedures and all related documentation as required to meet or exceed regulatory standards.
• Develop and promote a business model which focuses on strong partnering with officers of the Firm and with relationship bankers of TD Bank N.A. to enhance TD Securities' profile and market share of Municipal, Not-for-Profit and Public Finance business across the U.S.
• Stay fully informed on market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards. Develop and maintain contacts with market participants, including lawyers, financial advisors and issuing clients.
• Must understand and comply with TD Securities' policies, regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring that transactions are fully documented and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Update, create and review debt profiles for target clients, work on RFP responses and presentation materials for current and target clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (December 2019 or May 2020 grad date)
• Preferably with a major in Finance or Economics
• Strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication, with strong attention to detail
• Must be familiar with bond math, have experience with PowerPoint, Excel and DBC Finance applications, and excellent quantitative, qualitative and research skills
• Prior attainment of FINRA licenses (SIE, Series 52, Series 63) a plus but not required
