Site Access Representative

Argonne National Laboratory has an opportunity for a talented Site Access Representative within the Security, Travel and Emergency (STE) Division.

Responsibilities include:
  • Perform a variety of administrative activities and tasks.
  • Assignments may include researching, compiling, tracking, and analyzing data and information from multiple sources, organizing, coordinating and scheduling meetings, preparing travel arrangements, preparing correspondence and reports, purchasing supplies, filing, coordinating procurement packages, and coordinating calendar.
  • Utilize various types of software to compile and generate reports, spreadsheets, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations.
  • Recommend processes to enhance work flow.
  • Provide data and information to others on functional unit processes and procedures.
  • Requires a broad working knowledge of departmental and laboratory policies and practice.

Position Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • In accordance with the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) serves as Argonne`s certified Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Registrar and Activator for federal and contractor personnel.
  • Serves as a back-up to other Visitor Reception Center positions, as may be required.
  • Adherence to DOE Notice 206.4, Personal Identity Verification, as mandated by Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12).
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality for the purpose of protecting individuals` personally identifiable information.
  • Ability to physically secure PIV badges in authorized storage containers; effectively and securely transmit physical badges to vendor.
  • Ability to follow prescribed process as defined by HSPD-12 and to prioritize and organize tasks and maintain a rigid schedule of processing PIV applicants.
  • Experience in general office procedures.
  • Verbal communication skills and the ability to deal in a tactful, sensitive and cheerful manner with varied levels of internal and external contacts while following HSPD-12.
  • Ability to adequately convey the importance of the PIV process and of securing the PIV Card.
  • Proficiency in typing and experience with computer word processing.
  • Knowledge of DOE/ANL policies and procedures relating to site access, and the Personnel Security Program, and unclassified foreign visits and assignments.
  • Other: Ability to complete the specialized PIV Training and become certified.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" clearance.
  • Punctuality is essential, and incumbent is responsible for maintaining an acceptable attendance record.
