Full-Time Staff Nurse, Specialty Pharmacy - Health & Wellness Non-Store Operations

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Ensures new patients or authorized patient representatives receive medication information, new patient packets, training kits, and manufacturerprovided
product materials in accordance with pharmacy policies and procedures; supporting pharmacy compliance with Risk Evaluation and
Mitigation Strategy program requirements; documenting patients' receipt of materials within pharmacy records or as otherwise directed to meet
manufacturer requirements.

Supports pharmacy accreditation efforts by working independently and collaboratively within the pharmacy to deliver elements of the Patient
Management Program; providing injection training and education to patients new to injectable therapies; promoting medication use and disposal
according to manufacturer instructions and company policies and procedures; assisting with patient-reported concerns related to medication
administration; evaluating patient administration techniques as needed.

Provides holistic telephonic/video case management to patients to help increase medication compliance; identifying patient needs and facilitating
referrals to Walmart's Community Healthcare Specialists for additional services as needed.

Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to manage and evaluate ongoing patient health statuses and gauge treatment responses; determining how often
to administer questionnaires to patients based on medication cycles and guidelines; distributing information to treatment staff, pharmacies, and
prescribers.

Maintains current nursing licensure for multiple states; completing all required training and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to comply with state
licensing bodies; monitoring for any new training needed to maintain licensure for all states; updates management on all expiration dates and renewal
schedules for state licensures.

Provides best practice nursing support for specialty pharmacy operations and applies nursing education, training, and experience to develop,
implement, and improve patient care planning; providing nursing assessments and reassessments; maintaining consistent refill schedules for patients
through intra/interdisciplinary case management with others as needed.

Assist, coordinates, and facilitates medication shipments to help ensure the timely delivery of medications; identifying and reducing barriers to
medication compliance and delivery; expediting prior authorization for medications by coordinating with Prior Authorization (PA) department and
prescribers for information needed to process authorizations.

Maintains a working knowledge of all specialty medications and the locations of evidence-based practice information on all medications dispensed;
demonstrating familiarity with medications dispensed by the pharmacy; proactively learning new medications and any updates on current medications
dispensed to patients; demonstrating familiarity with infusion techniques and assisting pharmacists with the selection of appropriate infusion-related
devices and supplies.

Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by
incorporating these into their daily work practices.

Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in state of practice
1 year’s experience in nursing or related field.
