The Technical Product Manager manages the gaining of insight into customer needs and champions customer's preferences in order to direct the product vision of what Technology is to build. Additionally, the Product Manager manages the championing of the product with internal stakeholders and ensures that the product remains commercial.

The Technical Product Manager may carry out some or all of these tasks:
  • Accountable for making and keeping the product a success - by ensuring that it offers a strong value proposition to the customers and users and that it creates the desired business benefits
  • Responsible for delivering value to the business, engaging with the customer to ensure the team is building the correct product
  • Responsible for the product vision and roadmap of what is to be built, and conveys that vision to the Agile software development team
  • Responsible for leading the design of large user stories (epics) which are broken down into smaller stories (product backlog), which is a prioritized features list for the product which is used by Agile Teams to develop technology solutions
  • Owns the product / team backlog (leads all stories)
  • Defines and grooms stories
  • Prioritizes backlog (sprint)
  • Facilitates backlog grooming
  • Plans features into sprints
  • Funds the right team
  • facilitates business acceptance
  • Focuses more on features
  • Maintains the team at full capacity
  • Be aware of related industry trends, distilling this knowledge and sharing with the wider team
  • Familiarity with interconnected HSBC back-end and middleware Wealth systems
  • Manages the promotion and communication of the product to the wider organization
  • Interacts with and fully understands customers and their needs
  • Maintains and manages communication with business stakeholders, resolving conflicting stakeholder priorities
  • Collaborates with the team to showcase the product to stakeholders


  • Proven experience with CRM systems and Data Architecture/Data Management is required
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
  • Proven experience in driving programs through Agile and scrum methods
  • Proven experience in handling programs with more than $15mil budget
  • Proven experience in working with matrix reporting teams across different time zones
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced in tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office tools
  • Experience with Wealth systems is a plus, particularly International and F/X; related Fraud, ALM and Compliance tracking systems required à Please delete!
