The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on an Intake Assistant Service Processor to join our claimant excellence team supporting Group Protection in our Atlanta, GA; Charlotte; NC; Omaha, NE; Phoenix, AZ; Dover, NH orfices or in a work-from-home environment.

Background Details
The Claimant Excellence Team will provide you with several weeks of paid training, coaching and development to perform in this fast-paced environment.

As an Intake Assistant Service Processor, you will be responsible for the initial intake of disability, voluntary and life claims through both paper intake and phone intake. You will act as the initial party responsible for loading disability, voluntary and life claims into the appropriate systems with accurate information. As a member of the team, you will gather specific details needed in order to initiate their claim while educating them on the next steps in the process. This opportunity will provide insight into the world of group insurance administration while gaining new skills through a defined career pathing and development program. What you'll be doing

  • You will review basic incoming electronic/paper/phone correspondence to determine the appropriate claim needs based on coverage while ensuring that the most accurate information is being entered for the Claimant and Claims Examiner to move the claim past initiation.
  • You will communicate with internal/external stakeholders to obtain necessary information for claims initiation and processing while utilizing multiple applications and platforms. In addition, you will complete email follow ups in many instances.
  • You will provide education to the customer/employer regarding the process while having a strong focus on attention to detail to ensure the claim/leave is notated appropriately.
  • You will communicate effectively through email/phone with internal/external stakeholders in a customer centric and professional demeanor while recognizing what needs to be done to meet customers' expectations and demonstrates flexibility/responsiveness to meet customer needs on routine work independently.
  • You will identify, recommends and champions process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.


What we're looking for

Must-have experience (Required):
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-1+ years of administrative support, customer service and/or data entry that directly with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


Nice-to have Experience (Preferred):
  • Data entry and research experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maneuver through multiple systems as needed

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Home:Employees will work from home generally three days each week and come into a Lincoln office on a schedule their manager will help set, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
