Tax counsel responsible for global tax planning and implementation. Includes providing tax advice and support for company strategic initiatives and activities across all enterprise functions including Business Development, Treasury, and Global Product Development and Supply.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, develop and implement global tax planning strategies consistent with corporate tax objectives and company strategic vision.
  • Provide comprehensive tax support, i.e. tax structuring, planning, analysis, and recommendations, and partner with stakeholders across the company---requires close collaboration and partnership with senior tax members and leaders across multiple functional areas to understand business needs and objectives
  • Analyze tax issues for various M&A, licensing, collaboration, restructuring, and other strategic transactions.
  • Provide tax support for the company’s business development initiatives.
  • Support a team of 4-6 tax lawyers and coordinate the use of outside consultants where needed.
  • Coordinate with tax compliance and provision functions to ensure proper reporting of transactions
  • Monitor and analyze federal, state and foreign legislative, regulatory and judicial developments for impacts to the company, risks opportunities and recommendations.


Skills/Experience:
  • J.D. required, Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or business related area required, LL.M in tax preferred
  • 5+ years corporate tax experience post Juris Doctorate required; preferably in a law firm and/or corporate tax department; can include relevant big 4 experience.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
  • Well rounded expertise in global operations, US and international tax issues, international tax planning, transfer pricing, and cross-border M&A
  • Strong tax accounting background
  • Business oriented
